First Visit at Hunt Orthodontics
We’re excited to welcome you to your first visit to Hunt Orthodontics! From the moment you arrive, our friendly front desk team will help you get settled and guide you through your appointment. Whether you’re a parent bringing in your child or exploring treatment for yourself, we’re here to make your orthodontic journey smooth and stress-free.
During this visit, Dr. Todd Hunt or Dr. Jake Falter will perform a comprehensive orthodontic evaluation and walk you and your family through everything you need to know, step by step.
What Will Happen at My First Exam?
The initial orthodontic consultation is designed to give you clear answers and a roadmap for treatment, if needed. We’ll help you understand:
Is there an orthodontic issue that needs treatment?
What is the ideal time to begin treatment?
What type of orthodontic care is recommended?
How long will treatment take?
What will it cost?
What Happens After the Exam?
If treatment is appropriate at the time of your visit, we may proceed with Diagnostic Records right away, saving you time and a return visit.
Diagnostic records give us a detailed picture of your teeth and facial structure. These typically include:
Digital study models of your teeth
Panoramic and cephalometric X-rays
Detailed growth and bite analysis
These tools allow us to create a personalized treatment plan tailored to your unique smile.
Understanding the Cost of Orthodontic Treatment
The cost of treatment varies depending on the complexity of the case. During your consultation, our treatment coordinator will:
Review all fees and payment options
Customize a payment plan that fits your budget
Help you navigate your insurance coverage and explain how we work with most plans
We believe everyone deserves a beautiful smile, and we work hard to make that goal achievable and affordable.
What’s Included in Your Orthodontic Investment?
We provide more than just braces; we deliver a complete care experience. Your investment includes:
Full orthodontic records, including digital scans, x-rays, and a treatment workup
All appliances, office visits, and necessary procedures throughout your active treatment (braces or Invisalign)
One final set of retainers for comprehensive (Phase II) patients
Note: If appliances are lost, broken, or damaged due to misuse or failure to follow dietary instructions, a replacement fee may apply.
What Isn’t Included?
While we cover most aspects of treatment, a few services fall outside our scope:
Dental work is performed at offices outside of our practice
Additional procedures due to accidents, injuries, or conditions like TMJ disorders
Advanced surgical needs such as orthognathic surgery
In these rare instances, treatment fees may need to be adjusted accordingly.
Insurance and Assignment of Benefits
We accept assignment of benefits from most insurance providers, helping reduce your out-of-pocket costs significantly. If we do not accept direct assignment, we’ll still gladly file your claim so that you can be reimbursed directly.
Important: If your insurance changes during treatment, please notify us right away so we can adjust your plan accordingly.
Office Hours and Scheduling
We value your time, and we work hard to stay on schedule. Each appointment is reserved specifically for your needs, including:
Performing necessary adjustments
Answering questions
Reviewing your progress
To help us stay on track, we kindly ask that all patients arrive on time. Your punctuality ensures we can offer the same attention and care to every family we serve.
